As the first affiliated institute under the National University, the Institute of Science and Technology has been conducting professional programs in higher education since 1993. Department of Business Administration is the largest and leading Department of IST in respect of quality and quantity which was started from 2000. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) are two prestigious programs of Department of Business Administration of this institute. Mainly, the syllabus of the professional BBA & MBA course under National University has been prepared in a similar manner of Dhaka University (IBA Program).
The prime goal of the Department is to provide students with an integrated and practical approach to understanding current business practices. It has about 800 students and runs two important degree programs: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA). BBA offers four majors in BBA and four majors in MBA programs under National University of Bangladesh. Specialized and interdisciplinary courses focus on building leadership abilities, which will allow future managers to operate effectively in an increasingly growing global and technologically advanced marketplace.
About BBA Program
The duration of BBA Program is 4 years divided into eight semesters. A total of 126 credit hours are required to complete by the students in 40 taught course and viva-voce examination in third year and an Internship/Project Paper with Defense at the end of fourth year. In the seventh semester students will determine their major or specialized area where he/she will have options to choose from such as Accounting & Information System, Management Studies, Marketing, and Finance & Banking.
About MBA Program
The duration of MBA Program is 1 year divided into two semesters. A total of 36 credit hours are required to complete by the students in 10 taught courses and an Internship/Project Paper with Defense viva-voce examination at the end of first year. In the second semester students will determine their major or specialized area where he/she will have four options to choose from such as Accounting & Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Finance & Banking.
